Hero of the 9th round of the 2nd stage of the First League Bodnia: Bukovina can fight for access to the UPL next season

Sport Arena, together with the PFL, is naming the hero of the next round in the First League. In the 9th round of the second stage, this is Bukovina midfielder Roman Bodnya, who made a great contribution to returning his team to the top ten

It’s nice to note this – even in penultimate round of the 2023/24 season in the First League There is intrigue both regarding the issue of gold medals and in the fight for first place in the “Knockout” group. Just getting ahead Podolia lost minimally in ZaporozhyeSo Bukovina was supposed to take advantage of the “gift” from Metallurg.

And she used it! In Horishni Plavny, Gornyk-Sport put up desperate resistance, but Bukovyna won – and of the three goals, two were due to the effective actions of our interlocutor. Bodnya scored himself and assisted Novotryasov.

The best player of the ninth round in the First League, Roman Bodnya, told Sport Arena about the victory over Gornyak-Sport, farewell to Melnychuk and work with the new coach, and also noted the ambitious plans of the Chernivtsi club.

– How unexpected and pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the First League?

– The fact that I was considered the best player of the tour was a pleasant surprise for me. First of all, I want to thank the team and coaching staff for this match, I think we played very well as a team.

– How did the team react to the news of Melnichuk’s dismissal? Was this unexpected?

“It was very unexpected, but everyone understands that each of us has a share of the blame for this.”

– What did Churilov say before the game with Gornyak-Sport? What are the requirements of this specialist and how significant is the difference when compared with Melnichuk?

– Grigory Vladimirovich and Vitaly Stanislavovich motivated the guys and emphasized that we should get a positive result. Grigory Vladimirovich requires us to play fast football from the bottom, keep the balance of the players on the field, insure each other, control the game more and act more aggressively in front of the opponent’s goal.

– After the defeat from Kremny, it probably wasn’t worth further motivating the team to play in Gorishni Plavni?

— An unsuccessful match at home in front of our home fans is what we, first of all, as a team, wanted to correct. And they also had to answer for the poor game and result in our home game with Gornyak-Sport. I think it was a difficult game, but interesting, the coaching staff prepared us very well.

– How important was it for you to regain sole leadership before the last round?

– As a team, we always strive to win, so this game was fundamental for us and important from the point of view of the standings. It’s always nice to be leaders.

– In the match against Gornyak-Sport, not everything worked out. What conclusions did you draw from this confrontation?

– The game was interesting, but no conclusions have been drawn yet; in theory, the coaches will explain to us where our mistakes were and how we can correct them.

– In the last round you scored a goal and an assist. Are you satisfied with your effectiveness?

– Of course, it’s very nice to do effective actions, but I want to do it more often.

– Bukovina plays unstable in the spring. Perhaps the main reason is that the roster changed significantly in the offseason?

– I would like to apologize to our fans for the unstable game. Strong players joined Bukovina in the off-season, we needed time to get to know each other, but now we all feel like one cohesive team, I think that the new season will be much better.

– Bukovina creates many chances, but with implementation problems. Working on finishing attacks in training? After all, you can’t always blame it on banal bad luck…

– In training sessions we practice finishing attacks; perhaps we lack confidence in the final stage, but I am sure that we can correct this.

– What has changed in the club after the appearance of sponsors? Maybe they started investing more in infrastructure development?

– The approach to everything has changed for the better, there were excellent training camps before the season, the team was strengthened with strong players, new equipment, a bus. Now it is possible to conduct theoretical classes in the office. The level of medicine and recovery has also improved. I would like to thank the president and leaders for such a high level.

– Remember your youth at Dynamo. What surprised you the most? Which Dynamo Academy specialist do you remember to this day?

– Dynamo is a team that always achieves its goals; the coaches have always aimed only at first place. I am grateful to all the trainers with whom I could work, they all helped me a lot and gave me a lot of knowledge.

– Which of the current football stars did you play with? Why couldn’t you gain a foothold in the Kiev club?

– I probably want to highlight Sergei Kravchenko and Evgeniy Seleznev. Very strong football players, they are leaders both on the football field and beyond.

– What do you remember about your debut for Chernomorets in the First League against Nikolaev? Were you competitive at this level at age 20?

– I remember very well the first game in the First League, I played quite well then, but I think that at that time I did not have the experience that I have now.

– Before the start of the 2021/22 season, we signed a full-fledged contract with Minaj, but we didn’t stay at that club for long. Why?

– There was high competition in Minaya and you need to have experience to withstand it, so after six months I left in order to get more playing time.

– Did the experience of playing for Gornyk-Sport benefit you? Do you remember that period fondly?

– Yes, sure. The coaches trusted me, it was always nice, I tried to justify the trust and the allotted playing time. I would like to add that we had a very good team.

– Can we say that in Bukovina you have already been able to maximize your potential?

– No, there is still a lot of work, I think that I can be a much stronger player both physically and psychologically, in understanding the game and interacting with partners on the field. But with every game I feel better and more confident.

– In your opinion, with this squad, Bukovina has the potential to fight for promotion in the next season?

– I think that we can fight for promotion next season. But this requires a lot of work.
