Papshun will lead Rakow again from next season

Kochergin will have an old and new coach

Rakow from Częstochowa officially announced that from the new season he will again become the head coach of the men’s team Marek Papshun.

All the successes of the club in recent times are associated with the name of this 49-year-old specialist. He coached Raków from 2016 to 2023, taking the team from the Second League to the 2023 Ekstraklyas championship. A year ago, Marek’s name was even associated with Dynamo Kyiv.

Raków won almost all its trophies under Papszun: a championship title, two Polish Cups (2021, 2022) and two Super Cups (the same years).

The team from Częstochowa is playing this season under the leadership of David Szwarga. A round before the finish, Raków takes sixth place in the Ekstraklyas and has already failed to qualify for European competition.

Papshun will reunite in the old-new club with his former ward, Ukrainian midfielder Vladislav Kochergin, who has been playing for Rakow since March 2022. This season, ex-footballer Zari played 49 matches, scored eight goals and gave four assists.
