Double Olympic figure skating champion Evgeny Plushenko said he plans to restore the axel to three and a half rotations after spinal surgery.
Earlier, Plushenko announced that he had undergone a fifth spinal operation.
— Do you plan to continue participating in the series?
– I am planning. In general, I have a task for the summer – God willing, I will recover, rehabilitate – I want to return the axel to three and a half turns from the beginning of September, and maybe even earlier. I think I will do it at 41,” Plushenko said, as quoted by Sport24.
In addition to two Olympic gold medals, Plushenko has two Olympic silver medals, three World Championship gold medals and seven European Championship victories.
