Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov became the winner of the “Art Theater Prize” in the “No comments” category, reports a correspondent at the award ceremony at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
Kostomarov was present at the event accompanied by his wife Oksana Domnina and daughter Anastasia.
“To a greater extent, the prize belongs to my dear and beloved women: my wife, my daughter, my mother, my companion Tatyana Navka, because it is only thanks to them, to their love, that I “I managed to do it and, albeit temporarily, conquer death,” Kostomarov said from the stage.
In January 2023, Kostomarov suffered from pneumonia. Due to illness, the Olympic champion had both legs amputated below the knee, as well as both hands. Today, the skater performs in ice shows using prosthetics.
