Athletistic / Athletics. The Federal Tax Service (FTS) has decided to fine two-time Olympic pole vault champion Elena Isinbayeva for non-payment of taxes in Russia.
According to the Shot telegram channel, Isinbayeva stopped monitoring her tax payments in the Russian Federation, which is why she accumulated a significant debt, currently amounting to 465,688 rubles (including fines and penalties imposed by the Federal Tax Service in the Volgograd region). It should be noted that the legendary athlete must repay this amount in order to avoid blocking his accounts in Russian banks.
On July 17, Isinbayeva announced that in September 2023 she would return to her work in the athletes’ commission of the International Olympic Committee. After that, many Russian officials criticized her for her comments about her “nominal” rank of major, as well as her move to Spain.
Currently, Elena Isinbaeva lives in the Canary Islands (Spain).
