The run through the historic center of St. Petersburg will take place on June 6 and, according to tradition, will open the first day of the main program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This year, a large-scale running race will take place under the theme “Towards the Friendship Games”.
SPIEF participants and city residents will run a distance of 5 km. The race will start at 6:30 a.m. (Moscow time) from St. Isaac’s Cathedral and will be an opportunity to see the beauty of St. Petersburg in a unique, traffic-free environment.
The organizers of the most massive event of the SPIEF Sports Games will be the Roscongress Foundation and the League of Heroes with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

The president of the International Boxing Association, ideological inspiration for the World Friendship Games project, Umar Kremlev, will participate in the opening ceremony of the race and will himself go to the starting line.
“Running is the most democratic form of physical activity. The races bring together politicians, businessmen, athletes – people from various fields. And one of the missions of the World Friendship Games is to revive the unifying power of sport in global competitions. The SPIEF race will open a series of events in support of the Friendship Games, which will then take place in many countries around the world,” said Umar Kremlev.
Friendship Games ambassador Roman Vlasov, two-time Olympic winner in Greco-Roman wrestling, will conduct a warm-up for the race participants.
The organizers will determine the winners and finalists among the city’s residents and among the Forum participants. The results of the business competition race will also be summarized. Note that one of the largest will be the team of Avito and Kismet – there are more than 50 people in its application.
With the support of high-tech fuel brand G-Drive, the Russian Special Olympics team will participate in the race.
For the second year in a row, Forum participants will have access to an excursion format of the race with educational stories about the iconic objects along the route, organized with the support of Uralchem Run Factory.
