Alexander will perform as the famous Ukrainian MMA fighter Igor Vovchanchyn
Absolute world heavyweight champion Alexander Usik will play in a Hollywood blockbuster The Smashing Machine. The main roles in the film will be played by a famous actor and a legendary wrestler. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and famous actress Emily Blunt.
The film is dedicated to the biography of American wrestling and MMA legend Mark Kerr, played by Johnson. The film will also star another famous fighter, ex-Bellator champion Ryan Bader as UFC champion Mark Coleman.
Usik will play the role of the legendary former MMA champion Igor Vovchanchyn. The plot concerns Kerr’s confrontation with the famous Ukrainian. Vovchanchyn met the American twice; the result of the first fight (the Ukrainian’s victory by technical knockout) in 1999 was annulled by the judges due to Igor’s illegal blows. Vovchanchyn won the second fight in 2000.
In his last fight, Usik defeated former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and won the undisputed boxing title. Alexander became the first absolute world heavyweight champion in the era of four belts. In the heavyweight division, the last time Lennox Lewis held absolute status was in 1999, but then three titles were enough for this title.
