Ukraine U-17 national team lost Czech Republic in the second round European Youth Championship 2024 – 1:3.
The Czechs took the lead in the first half after a penalty was converted by Lukas Moudry. After the break, Ondrej Penksa scored the second goal, and towards the end of the match he scored a double. The blue-and-yellows were able to score a prestige goal; Kirill Digtyar scored a penalty in injury time.
Let us note that the main referee of the match was unable to finish the match due to leg cramps. He was replaced by the fourth referee in the middle of the second half.
The Ukrainian U-17 team suffered a second defeat in two matches. Let us remind you that in the first meeting the blue-yellows lost to Serbia (0:1). Yuri Moroz’s team may finally lose their chance of leaving Group A after the Serbs meet Cyprus U-17. The Czech Republic leads the quartet with six points.
In the final round, Ukraine U-17 will play against the hosts of the tournament, the Cypriots. The match will take place on May 26.
