While we are talking about postponing the date of the fight, but there is a possibility of a complete cancellation
Fight between a boxer and a video blogger Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) with light heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs) will not take place on the previously scheduled date of August 6th.
The New York State Athletic Commission has called for the maximum weight limit to be changed to 205 pounds. The boxers were originally scheduled to fight with a 200 pound limit.
Rahman Jr. was tested weekly by the Commission, which monitored the safe reduction of his weight. Previously, the boxer has never weighed less than 211 pounds. The latest check showed that Hasim will not be able to enter the restrictions without compromising health.
Now we are talking about postponing the date of the fight from August 6 to a later date. However, it is highly likely that the fight will be canceled completely.
The fight was scheduled to take place in New York at the Madison Sker Garden. The 8-round fight was supposed to enter the WBC rating.
Recall that initially 25-year-old Paul was supposed to fight against Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy (8-0, 4 KOs). However, Paul refused to fight the British boxer due to the fact that he was banned from entering the United States.
Paul has five victories in five professional fights. In December, Jake knocked out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
