Samodelkina, 17, changed her sporting citizenship in August 2023 and now intends to compete for Kazakhstan.
“I simply cannot understand that Samodelkina was released in Kazakhstan. The girl wants to go, so let her go wherever she wants. We are not interested in this, so the decision is correct. For Russian figure skating, Samodelkina’s departure is not a loss,” Tarasov said, as quoted by Sport24.
On Sunday, the coach of the Kazakhstan national figure skating team, Assem Kasanova, told that the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) was not releasing the figure skater. Without this, Samodelkina will not be able to start playing for Kazakhstan.
Samodelkina is the winner and winner of the stages of the Russian Grand Prix.
