Olympic silver medalist in team competition Alexandre Enbert told that during its suspension of international competitions, the level of figure skating in Russia has only increased.

Previously, the acting president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Anton Sikharulidze said that the Russian team will prepare for the 2026 Olympics. At present, Russian figure skaters are suspended from their participation in competitions under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) due to the situation in Ukraine.

— I would really like to believe that our guys will perform at the Olympic Games in Milan. I think Sikharulidze said this for a reason, which means that some kind of negotiation has begun. Our athletes would have greater motivation. During the suspension, the level (of Russian skating) has not fallen, but it is progressing. The XXV Olympic Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will be held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
