Irina Vyatchanina, former coach of a Turkish swimmer Victoria Gunes believes that the athlete will not return to competitive practice after a long disqualification.
Gunes was disqualified for violating rules about reporting her whereabouts to anti-doping officials. Her disqualification begins on February 19, 2023 and she will be able to resume performances no earlier than May 23, 2026.
– Such a severe punishment for this violation. Apparently they thought she was hiding for a good reason. I haven’t had contact with her for a long time, I can’t say anything here. The girl is very talented, I didn’t have one without talent. A good crystal always needs a master, then it turns into a diamond. It is unlikely that she will return after this disqualification,” Viatchanina told .
