Dayana beat Ajla Tomljanovic from Australia in three sets
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya advanced to the second round of singles Roland Garros 2024.
The Ukrainian won a strong-willed victory over wild card holder Ayla Tomljanovic from Australia. The fight lasted two hours and 11 minutes.
Dayana lost the first game, giving away two of her serves. In the second set, the Ukrainian managed to seize the initiative, winning four games in a row. In the decisive game, Yastremskaya only had one break to take the set and the match to victory.
In the second round, the Ukrainian will play with Chinese tennis player Yafan Wang. The Chinese woman ranks 68th in the updated WTA rankings.
Lesya Tsurenko dropped out of Roland Garros earlier. The Ukrainian was unable to finish the match with Donna Vekic from Croatia.
