The Ukrainian forward became the top scorer of Primera League 2023/24
Ukrainian forward Girona Artem Dovbik thanked the Catalan team and its fans for their support throughout the season.
“I want to thank my team for their continued support and the fans for their incredible enthusiasm. This season was fantastic because we were like family. Thank you very much for everything!” the Ukrainian wrote.
At the end of the 2023/24 season, Dovbik became the top scorer of Examples. Artem scored 24 goals, scoring a hat-trick against Granada in the last round. The Ukrainian beat Villarreal’s Alexander Serloth (23 goals), as well as Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona), who scored 19 goals each.
The 26-year-old forward became the first representative of Ukraine to win the Pichichi Trofeo – the prize for the best scorer of Examples. And also – only the second Ukrainian after Andrei Shevchenko, who was able to become the best goalscorer of the top championship (the current head of the UAF achieved such an achievement in the Italian Serie A twice).
At the same time, Dovbik, who transferred last summer from SC Dnepr-1, spent his debut season in the top league. In total, he played 39 matches for Girona, scored 24 goals (all in the championship), and gave 10 assists.
His compatriot and teammate Viktor Tsygankov can also boast of a productive season: eight goals and seven assists in 34 matches.
Girona finished third in a historic season. The white-red will play in the next Champions League.
