Kenyan runner Chebet set a world record for 10 thousand meters, running for the first time in 29 minutes

The athlete competed with Gudaf Tsegai, who herself was focused on a new achievement

Kenyan athlete Beatrice Chebet installed a new one world record in distance running 10 thousand meters. The athlete achieved the achievement at the Diamond League stage in Eugene, America.

Chebet did not plan to show a record result. Gudaf Tsegay from Ethiopia was hoping to set a new achievement, and she asked the pace makers to keep the pace high for this.

However, Tsegai, who had previously experienced problems with her leg, could not keep up the pace and fell behind the group. Chebet accelerated 800 meters before the end, and eventually showed the result 28:54.14 s. Beatrice became the first woman to break 29 minutes at this distance.

Tsegay showed a result of 29:05.92 s. Her time was the third in history for women at this distance.

The race also became a qualifier for the Kenyan team for the 2024 Olympics. Chebet and Lilian Kasait Rengeruk won tickets to the Games.
