Polissya beat Shakhtar in the final match
Attack Polesia Luifer Hernandez recognized as the best player of the 30th round Ukrainian Premier League. Ex-mentor of Zhytomyr residents Sergey Shishchenko became the best coach of the final round.
In the last match of the UPL 2023/24, Polesie beat the champion Shakhtar (2:0). The hosts scored both goals in the first half – first, Pedrinho scored an own goal, and then Luifer scored his own goal.
In a fan poll, the Venezuelan received 46.2% of the votes. Alexandria midfielder Juan Alvina Bezerra took second place (22.3%), followed by Samba Diallo (17%) and Oleg Ocheretko (14.6%).
Shishchenko received the support of 46.9% of fans. Veres’ mentor Oleg Shandruk came second (25.3%), followed by Ruslan Rotan (19.3%) and Yuri Maksimov (8.6%).
Let us remember that Shishchenko headed Polesie as an acting head. Imad Ashur became the new head coach of the Zhytomyr team.
Polesie took fifth place in the UPL. Zhytomyr will play in the Conference League qualifications next season.
