The 49-year-old coach, previously fired from Almeria, will replace Arrasate in this post from the 2024/25 season
Osasuna officially announced the appointment Vicente Moreno for the position head coach since the season 2024/25.
Let us remind you that back in March, the current coach of the Pamplona team, Hagoba Arrasate, announced that he would leave the team at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Moreno, 49, has already worked in La Liga this season. True, not for long. At the end of September he was dismissed from Almeria, having held this post for less than three months. Under him, the team scored only two points in seven rounds and finished last in the standings. As a result, emergency measures did not help – the Red and Whites were relegated from 19th place.
Before Almeria, Moreno coached Al-Shabab (4th place in the Saudi Pro League) in the 2022/23 season. He previously established a reputation in Spain as a successful promotion coach. In particular, he won Segunda B with Gimnastic and Mallorca, and also returned Espanyol to Primera from first place.
Osasuna finished the season in 11th place, having completed an undefeated series at the end of the championship – in particular, the Arrasate team unexpectedly defeated Atlético Madrid (4:1).
