The forward has played for the Red Devils since 2015
Forward Manchester United Anthony Martial said goodbye to the Red Devils fans and announced his departure from the club.
“After nine incredible years at the club, it’s time to turn a new page in my career. Manchester United will always be in my heart. This club has left its mark on my career and given me an incredible opportunity to play in front of you. I am leaving to take on new challenges, I will always be a Red Devil and will continue to follow the club’s results with passion.”
The forward has played for the Red Devils since 2015. Martial’s contract with Manchester United runs until the end of this season. There is a clause in the contract for a one-year extension, but the club will not activate it.
Martial won six trophies with United, including the Europa League in the 2016/17 season and two FA Cups. This season, the Frenchman has two goals and one assist in 19 games.
Erik ten Hag’s team finished eighth in the Premier League. In the last match of the season, the Red Devils won the FA Cup, beating Manchester City in the final (2:1). Thus, Manchester United will play in the Europa League.
