The coach intends to continue working independently
Ostap Markevich announced his resignation from the coaching staff Carpathians. The coach said that he intends to continue his independent coaching career.
“Starting from the new season, I will no longer be on the coaching staff of Karpaty. Although, perhaps, I will remain in the club structure. At my father’s request to help him in the Carpathians, I had no chance to refuse. We completed the task – Karpaty reached the UPL.”
“I helped my father and my home club, and then I have my own path. I would like to continue my career as a head coach. I communicate with Ukrainian and foreign clubs.”
“Miron Markevich will remain at the club. There are also other coaches on the staff: there are enough qualified specialists in the structure of the Lviv team.”
In Ukraine, Ostap Markevich headed three clubs – Agribusiness, Mariupol and Chernomorets. Previously, the son of the legendary Ukrainian coach Myron Markevich worked with the Villarreal youth team, and spent the past season on the coaching staff of the Lviv team.
Karpaty were promoted ahead of schedule in April and will play in the UPL in the 2024/25 season. Miron Markevich’s team failed to become the champion of the First League, losing to Ingulets in the last round. Karpaty-2 took fifth place in the Second League.
