Maxim Gorodinets became the European champion in pistol shooting at a distance of 25 m
Team Ukraine won the sixth license for Olympic Games 2024 in shooting. Maxim Gorodinets gained admission to the Games in Paris, becoming the 2024 European champion in pistol speed shooting at a distance of 25 m.
Gorodinets reached the finals of the competition along with another Ukrainian, Vladimir Pasternak. Maxim made it to the top four. As a result, the Ukrainian reached a decisive duel with Riccardo Mazzetti, and was ahead of the Italian by three accurate shots.
Gorodinets’ license is non-registered. Ukraine can nominate any athlete to the Olympics in this discipline.
This is the second license for the blue and yellow men’s 25m pistol speed shooting. Previously, Denis Kushnirov obtained the quota following the results of the 2023 World Cup. In total, Ukraine received five Olympic licenses in bullet shooting, and one in skeet shooting.
