The guys have worked hard to prepare for the World Cup, they are in great shape. We created this tournament, in general, in order to give a competitive practice to our athletes. Many thanks to the media for their attention to the Friendship Games. Now many organize competitions, but in order to put the whole scheme together so that everyone comes, this is the first tournament of its kind in our current conditions. At the opening we had the Minister of Sports of Russia Oleg Vasilyevich Matytsin, the heads of the water sports federations.

In a number of departments we bypassed the biggest competitions of the season – I don’t want to slander my colleagues, I have excellent relations with the Budapest organizing committee, but in several respects we really take a few steps forward. We really wanted to add emotion to the guys – it’s not easy for them now, but they’re great, they’re showing great results.

– We will have competitions in eleven sports. We prepare and organize weekly meetings. We want to do a good big project with the best representatives in all sports. The volume is important – in the beginning there were six types, now there are eleven. We understand how to organize everything, we know and have already inspected all the facilities. It is important that there is good content, that there is good coverage by competent journalists. We will do everything to ensure that everything happens at the highest level.
