“Tatiana Anatolyevna was never rude to me. When she hit me, it was a psychological technique; in a single movement, she brought me back to reason and order. The rest of the time she was a loving mother. Each person needs their own coach. If someone needs to be insulted and beaten, that’s their business, but I certainly don’t need it,” quotes Bestemyanova, in Soviet Sport.

Previously, a conflict broke out between the president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner and her former ward Margarita Mamun. The gymnast criticized Wiener’s methods, saying she could not stand mental or physical abuse. In response, Viner posted a message on his Telegram channel, recalling the incident in which Tatyana Tarasova hit Natalya Bestemyanova in the face to make her come to her senses.
