The defender had a preliminary contract with the Dnipro club
Defender Sergei Chobotenko commented on the termination of the contract with Dnepr-1.
“Before the team gathered, it became known that the club would have a new sports director and coach. Accordingly, they plan to form a new team. As I was told, I am not included in their plans. That’s why we decided to terminate the contract.”
“When you have been directly preparing for a training camp with one team since February, turning down all other clubs because you have a preliminary contract, there is usually a certain residue after all this. But there is no time to be offended, this is life and you need to move on.
“Now I and my agents are looking for a new team. And the goal is, first of all, to return to football after a long pause and reach a new level of their game.”
Recall that at the end of June Chobotenko left Mariupol, and he agreed on a contract with Dnepr-1 in the winter.
Chobotenko joined Mariupol in 2018 on loan from Shakhtar. In 2019, he became a full-fledged player of Priazovtsy, having played more than 80 matches for the team.
Oleksandr Kucher has been officially appointed as the new head coach of SC Dnipro-1. He replaced Igor Jovicevich, who signed a contract with Shakhtar.
Dnipro-1 finished third in the Ukrainian Premier League last season and qualified for the Europa League. The new season in the Ukrainian championship starts on August 23.
