Theater and film actress Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, was a courageous person, people will remember her, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
On Saturday, a farewell ceremony for Zavorotnyuk will take place in Moscow. Peskov came to the actress’s funeral with his wife, Olympic ice dancing champion Tatiana Navka.
“She was a very beautiful woman, a wonderful mother, an actress and a very courageous person. She fought against illness for a long time and will remain in our memory,” Peskov said at Zavorotnyuk’s farewell ceremony.
Zavorotnyuk died on May 30 at the age of 53 after a long and serious illness. She was the wife of figure skater and choreographer Pyotr Chernyshev.
