Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov shared the feelings he experienced in the hospital.

In January 2023, Kostomarov was hospitalized with pneumonia. Due to complications, both feet and both hands were amputated. The figure skater has returned to the ice, performing in shows using prosthetics.

I still don’t like the photo, to be honest. But now, at least, I approach the mirror myself, rather than moving around in a wheelchair. It’s funny to remember, but while I was lying on my back in the hospital like a turtle, everyone who entered my room looked like giants – doctors, nurses.
