“It remains to compete in Russia – there is no way out. It’s a shame that they don’t allow it, but this has been going on for several years now” – Tatiana Mishina

Russia’s Honored Coach Tatiana Mishina told that she felt offended by the exclusion of Russian figure skaters from international tournaments.

Earlier, Honorary Vice President of the International Skating Union (ISU) Alexander Lakernik said that the issue of admitting Russians to international tournaments in the 2024/25 season was not discussed within of the ISU.

— It was expected that they would not be allowed this coming season. What matters is what happens next season. It’s not that critical. In Russian competitions, the guys who are coming up will fight the same way, there will be a good level in all tournaments. Of course it’s a shame they don’t allow it, but this isn’t the first year this has happened. All that remains is to compete here – there is no way out. You have to compete, keep fit, spirit and character,” Mishina told .

Russian athletes have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the ISU since 2022. A congress of the international organization will be held in Las Vegas from June 10 to 14.
