Double world figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva spoke about his impressions of participating in the race for the stars as part of the Athletics Week, which takes place in Moscow from June 4 to 9.
On Tuesday, demonstration races will take place on Nikolskaya Street in Moscow as part of Athletics Week. Medvedeva took third place in the 60-meter race.
“For me, it’s about entering a familiar competitive environment. I watched the girls and boys backstage getting ready for the race, I got stressed and calmed down. I started from the beginning and halfway through the straight I realized that running wasn’t my thing at all. I remembered I was a figure skater and I jumped a single axel because I could. It was an improvisation, I did it spontaneously.
It’s a great feeling, there’s a good atmosphere here, a very warm crowd, I liked it,” reports correspondent Medvedeva.
