Moiseeva – about Kuznetsov’s shortened program in the Chechen Republic: “Athletes are not robots”

Olympic medalist in diving Evgeny Kuznetsov only participates in two events because he does not want to lose the quality of execution of a complex program in the main disciplines; for this, an experienced athlete must set priorities, explains the head coach of the Russian national team Svetlana Moiseeva.

Kuznetsov and Nikita Shleicher won the 3-meter springboard synchronized diving at the BetBoom Russian Championship, which is taking place in Kazan. At this tournament, Kuznetsov will compete in individual aerials, but will miss starts in other events.

– It’s a reasonable decision. The main thing for him now is to reschedule the main starts normally, because the ankle is still being felt, the injured hand is making itself known. I almost turned the wrong way – my neck hit. Doctors worked to help him. Athletes are not robots and his program is complex. I don’t want to lose complexity, I want to show everything at the same level, so the emphasis is on the main types,” Moiseeva told .
