Russian cyclists will not be able to participate in the European Track Cycling Championships in Germany, even in neutral status, a source close to the matter told .
The European Track Cycling Championships will take place in the junior age category and in the “under” category (under 23). The competition will take place in Cottbus, Germany from July 9 to 14.
Russian juniors have already competed in neutral status at the World Championships in Colombia, but Russians are not allowed to participate in competitions under the auspices of the European Cycling Union (ECU) in neutral status.
In January, Russian cyclists were unable to participate in the European Championships in the Netherlands with the neutral status they had obtained; they have now been refused permission to take part in the European Championships in Germany, citing a decision by that country’s government.
