“Can I name the young figure skaters I like? It is impossible to single anyone out, because all athletes are unique. Girls devote their whole lives to sports, invest every day in training, and it is generally hard work. that’s true in any sport, and it’s personal for me. “I am admired,” says Zagitova.
Alina Zagitova announced the suspension of her figure skating career in the summer of 2019. It is noteworthy that until now she has not officially announced her final retirement from the sport. The figure skater is the 2018 Olympic champion in individual skating, the silver medalist of these Games in the team competitions, the world champion (2019) and the winner of the Grand Prix final (2017).
In the summer of 2024, Alina Zagitova will defend her thesis at RANEPA, where she studies at the Faculty of Journalism. The figure skater works as a television presenter and participates in various ice shows. She recently became an ambassador for the BRICS Games in Kazan.
