President of the Russian Table Tennis Federation (FNTR) Alexander Babakov told that despite the cancellation of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) decision not to invite national athletes to the competitions, the admission conditions remain unacceptable.
On Friday, the press service of the legal company SILA indicated that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had partially upheld the FNTR’s appeal against the ETTU.
– The court overturned the decision of the European Union – this is wonderful and demonstrates the first illegal actions against us. As for whether our athletes will be able to participate, we are following the general trend here. They make unacceptable demands that no one will accept. We need to develop the solution we received, and then we will get a result that can be considered positive for us,” Babakov told .
At the beginning of March 2022, the ETTU decided not to invite Russian athletes and officials to competitions organized under the auspices of the ETTU, banned national symbols (flag, anthem) of Russia and also disqualified Russian clubs from the European Champions League for the 2021/22 season.
