On Friday, Russian cyclist Savva Novikov won the general classification of the stage race. The final high-speed stage of the “Golden Ladoga” took place on the rowing canal in St. Petersburg and ended with the victory of Sergei Rostovtsev from the Tula region.
Athletes from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates took part in the race in different teams.

Our immediate plans include the Russian Championship, after which we will prepare for the Tour of the Caucasus. There’s already a bike race waiting for him. Thanks to the new approach to promoting cycling, we have a real fan club there. Regional federations and cycling schools open. And this year, together with Roscongress, we will present the project at the Caucasus Investment Forum in Grozny. I am sure that we will attract a large audience there,” said Ekimov.
