On Saturday, Ternovoy and Alexander Bondar won the synchronized platform diving at the BetBoom Russian Championship in Kazan. Russian divers did not receive neutral status from World Aquatics and were not selected for the Olympics.
— When they announced that it was possible to participate in the Olympic Games in neutral status, I still understood – 90% that we would not go anywhere. They set such conditions that everyone decided to refuse. For example, one person at a time in individual jumps and it was completely forbidden to perform synchronized jumps.
— You have already passed your second Olympic Games.
– It’s a shame. But I got used to it a long time ago, I’m happy with what I have,” Ternovoy told .
