Olympic figure skating champion in team competitions Ekaterina Bobrova told how they had difficulties organizing a joint show with her husband Andrei Deputat.

We have different skating techniques, and it turned out to be quite difficult. When choosing which sport Andrei and I would compete in as amateurs, we chose ice dancing over pair skating. I understood: I would jump double without problem, and I would do any support. But the program as a whole is unlikely to be as interesting and spectacular as the rules of ice dancing allow. Andrey agreed with my arguments, we began to stage and I, as a director and dancer in the past, gained good momentum, forgetting that Andrey’s technique was ultimately not not specific to dance. Bobrova, who competed in ice dancing with Dmitri Solovyov, won gold at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi in the team tournament, as well as silver at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.
