On Sunday, Lysenko won the competition which took place in Moscow’s Gorky Park. The athlete cleared the bar at a height of 2.33 meters. Second was Ilya Ivanyuk (2.30), third was Nikita Kurbanov (2.23).
– You were injured. How did you recover? How did you approach this beginning?
— In Sochi, at the Russian team championship, the jumps were not very good. In principle, I can’t say that I jumped well here either. But in Sochi, my leg hurt a lot. My injury is such that no one knows what is wrong. Not every start, but sometimes the leg hurts. Today she hardly bothered me and didn’t interfere with my jumping. But it was a little hard to jump because of the new boards. I do not know them. Because of this, I could not stand the momentum, the jump, I did not feel the same flight. It wasn’t until 2.33, on the third attempt, that I felt the jump. And at 2:35 I jumped according to my technique.
