Olympic ice dancing champion Ekaterina Bobrova said she was not emotionally ready to work in big figure skating.
“I kind of mentally pictured different situations. Let’s say I have an athlete that I work with, I see a perspective, I invest my time, my emotions and my energy in the person, and this must be done wholeheartedly if we want to achieve maximum results. But at some point, for various reasons, all that work can fall through the cracks. Including for reasons beyond my control. And I realized that I was not emotionally ready for such losses,” Bobrova said, as quoted by RT.
Bobrova, who competed in ice dancing with Dmitri Solovyov, won gold at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi in the team tournament, as well as silver at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.
