Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, three-time Olympic champion in figure skating Irina Rodnina commented on the statement of the honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze on the boycott against Russian athletes.
Tutberidze previously said that in the absence of Russian skaters, international tournament titles should not be played. She is convinced that the ratings should not be updated either.
‘So do all the federations, alas. It is impossible to distinguish one of them. That’s what the majority does. This is the current political situation and the attitude towards Russia in the world,” Rodnina told Metaratings.ru.
Russian figure skaters were suspended from participating in international competitions in March due to the situation in Ukraine.
