The prosecutor’s office increased the requested term for Ancelotti to five years in prison

Carlo is accused of two counts of tax fraud amounting to more than a million euros

Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office requested an increase in prison term for the head coach Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti before five years.

Let us recall that in March it became known that Ancelotti was accused of two cases of tax fraud regarding his income from image rights in the period 2014-2015. worth more than one million euros.

The details of the accusation are as follows: it is alleged that Ancelotti, during the first two years of his work at the Madrid club, did not declare the income received from Real Madrid for the exploitation of his image, but spent the funds received (more than two million euros) through an offshore company Vapia Limited, based in the British Virgin Islands islands.

In addition, through the mentioned company, the specialist received payments in the amount of 2.5 million after signing a dozen advertising contracts. According to the Treasury, as a result of “concealing and failing to declare” the above-mentioned income, Ancelotti committed tax fraud amounting to more than 386 thousand euros in 2014 and more than 675 thousand euros in 2015. Thus, prosecutors are asking for a two-year prison sentence for the first offense and three years for the second.

The defense of the Real Madrid coach, in turn, provided the court with a document stating that Ancelotti has already paid the required bail, and therefore asks for an immediate review of the proposed sentence in the direction of mitigation.

Ancelotti, who turned 65 on June 10, is one of the greatest football managers of our time. He is the owner of a unique coaching achievement – champion titles in all five top championships. Carlo also won the Champions League five times at the head of two clubs (twice with Milan and three times with Real Madrid). In total, he has won 29 trophies over the past 25 years, including recent victories with Blancos in Primera and the Champions League.
