Athletistic / Luge. The Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) decided to extend the suspension of Russian athletes from participation in tournaments under its auspices. This is reported on the organization’s website.

The Congress will take place on June 14 and 15 in Lake Placid (USA). The decision was made in a vote in which the majority of delegates supported extending the suspension.

As noted in the statement, the presence of athletes, coaches and officials of the Russian Luge Federation may lead to an increased risk of violation of the security and integrity of tournaments.

On March 2, 2022, the FIL Executive Committee suspended Russians from participation in international competitions and banned the holding of tournaments under the auspices of the FIL in Russia.
