On Saturday, Kombarova finished second in the 100 meters at the BRICS Games in Kazan. Russian track and field athletes have been suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine by decision of the World Athletics Association.

– Of course! I would like to participate in the Olympic Games, but for now we are content with the international start in Kazan. I really want and I really believe that we will return to the Olympics soon. And the BRICS Games are my first international competitions. I believe in a better future, in which our country will soon be allowed to participate in international competitions,” Kombarova told .
The BRICS Games take place in the capital of Tatarstan from June 12 to 23.
