Artem Chermoshansky won gold at the BRICS Games in the long jump, Ekaterina Ivonina won gold in the steeplechase

Russian Artem Chermoshansky won the long jump competition organized as part of the BRICS Games in Kazan.

Chermoshansky won with a score of 8.18 meters. His compatriot Yuri Ozhgibesov took second place (7.80), with third place going to Belarusian Vladislav Bulakhov (7.70).

Russian Reyhan Kagramanova won the women’s 10,000 meter walk with a time of 41 minutes 57.80 seconds. Also among the top three were Russian Elvira Khasanova (43.05.97) and Belarusian Anna Terlyukevich (43.32.07).

In the women’s javelin throwing competition, the best was the representative of Belarus, Tatyana Kholodovich, in her best attempt she showed a result of 61.1 meters. Russians Ella Kuznetsova (61.07) and Maya Bogatyreva (58.67) occupy second and third places.

Victory in the women’s steeplechase was won by Russian Ekaterina Ivonina (9 minutes 28.16 seconds), who was ahead of her compatriot Anna Tropina (9:36.11) and Belarusian Tatyana Shabanova (9:38.95).

The BRICS Games will take place in Kazan from June 12 to 23.
