Russians Alexei Korovachkov And Ivan Shtyl won the 200 meter two-person canoe event at the European Championships in Szeged, Hungary.
Korovashkov and Shtyl clocked 37.438 seconds in the final race. The Poles Alexander Kitevsky and Alexey Kolyadich came second (lag – 0.320 seconds), bronze went to the Spaniards Manuel Fontana and Adrian Seiro (+0.667 seconds).
Russian canoeist Zakhar Petrov took second place at a distance of 500 meters, losing 0.010 seconds to the victorious Sergei Tarnovsky from Moldova. Czech Martin Fuksa finished third (+0.816).
Russians Svetlana Chernigovskaya and Anastasia Dolgova took fourth place in the two-person kayak competition over a distance of 200 meters; the Hungarians Blanka Kiss and Anna Lutz won.
Russian athletes participate in the European Championships in neutral status.
