Zagitova: “When I was little, my mother scared me by thinking that I would go to athletics if I was not good at skating”

Olympic champion Alina Zagitova said that when she was a child, her mother wanted to send her to track and field if she had failed in figure skating.

Zagitova is an ambassador for the BRICS Games, which will take place in Kazan from June 12 to 23.

— What do you say to the volunteers, how do you motivate them?

“They are very bright people who keep the mood going and charge with positivity.

— There are not enough participants in the synchronized swimming tournament. Is it realistic to imagine yourself in this sport?

— I’m not a good swimmer, so no, but if they invite you, why not. Why not try this sport too.

— What summer sport would you like to try?

— I try different sports. I don’t mind running. When I was little, my mother scared me that if I was bad at skating, I would run (in track and field) like a horse. This is the story,” reports correspondent, according to Zagitova’s words.
