Athletistic/Swimming. Russian swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov, who set a world record in the 50m backstroke, expressed his dissatisfaction with the conditions established by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the participation of Russians in the Olympic Games.

“Due to the fact that we are going there as neutral athletes who do not fully represent us, and ending with the fact that we do not have the opportunity to give interviews, separate passages have been created for us, similar to the outcasts. All these conditions are in the document published when the IOC made its decision,” Kolesnikov told Metaratings.ru.

Russian swimmers refused to participate in the Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee announced that it would only allow 55 Russian athletes to compete, but that they would compete under a neutral flag, without an anthem or any other national symbols.
