Coach Dikiji: “We haven’t tried to master the quintuple jump yet”

Oleg Tataurov, coach Vladislav Dikidji told that at that time the skater was not trying to master the quintuple jump.

In March, Olympic medalist Alexander Gallyamov said Dikidzhi had bet him that he would complete a quadruple jump by the end of the summer.

— We are on vacation now. We begin work on the 26th. The programs for the coming season have been set. Unfortunately, or fortunately, they have not yet tried to master the quintuple jump. We didn’t plan to include the quadruple axel in the program, I’m not even thinking about it yet,” Tataurov told .

In March, 19-year-old Dikiji posted a video on his Telegram channel in which he cleanly performs a 4.5-turn axel in training. The first skater in history who managed to perform this element cleanly at official competitions was American figure skater Ilya Malinin.

Dikiji won silver at the Russian Championship in the 2023/24 season, won two stages of the country’s Grand Prix and became third in the series finals.
