French swimmer Raphael Fente-Damer injured his shoulder while celebrating his place at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Ouest-France reports.
On Tuesday, the 17-year-old finished second in the 100m freestyle at the French Championships and won a license for the Games. After his performance, Fente-Damer hit the water hard after the finish. As a result, he suffered a dislocated shoulder and was only able to leave the pool with the help of medical staff. Fente-Damer attended the awards ceremony with a bandaged arm, after which he was hospitalized.
The Paris Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11.
