Efimova did not qualify for the Paris Olympics in the 200m breaststroke

Triple Olympic medalist, six-time world swimming champion Yulia Efimova reported that with a result of 2 minutes 29 seconds, she was unable to qualify for the 2024 Summer Games in Paris over a distance of 200 meters breaststroke.

At the Bahamas championship, which is a qualifying start for the Olympic Games, the athlete at this distance failed to show the qualifying time, which was 2 minutes 24.63 seconds.

— She swam disgustingly, in 2.29 (minutes). I don’t know at all what I expected. I understood with my head, I believed with my heart. I was hoping to post somewhere between 2.25 and 2.26 at least after such a 25-hour flight,” Efimova told .

Efimova is the only Russian swimmer to be granted neutral status to participate in the Games.

The Russian competed in the 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2021 Olympic Games, where she won two silver medals and one bronze.

The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11.
