On July 27, the “Battle of the Running Clubs” will take place on the territory of the Luzhniki sports complex. This is the first major track event, organized by the Dusty Dumbbells amateur racing club.
More than 60 teams will compete for the title of fastest club. The competition will bring together more than 600 participants. The organizers offer three types of disciplines: 3000 meters, Swedish relay (1600/1200/800/400), 4×100 meters relay. To become the fastest club, you must conquer the track over every distance. The higher the place, the more points will go to the club’s treasury. Whoever has the most points will win.
There is a prize pool for the winners and winners of the team competition, as well as gifts from partners and sponsors for the individual competition. A separate award is given for the best fan zone among clubs.
“We want to actively develop the history of the club and create a supportive culture around it. For clubs to lay the foundation for developing strong athletes, starting from childhood. After all, it is in the “movement” of the club that it is best to progress, to grow personally and as a team: there is a spirit of competition as well as support. Today there are more than 2,300 amateur running clubs in Russia and we are confident that they can make a strong statement about themselves. It’s especially cool when clubs are not formed around one coach, but are united on the basis of certain principles, so that each member creates a mood within the club. This is how truly united clubs are born, ”commented Anton Samokhvalov, co-founder of the Dusty Dumbbells club, head of the organizing committee.
