“Gubanova is an incredible athlete. The music and choreography are different from anything she has done before” – choreographer Shoya

Choreographer Adam Shoya spoke to about his collaboration with Anastasia Gubanova on the programs for the coming season.

Gubanova is from Togliatti; in 2021, she began performing under the flag of Georgia. Last season, the single skater took second place at the European Championships. Shoya set Gubanova’s schedule for the upcoming season.

— Anastasia is an incredible athlete who combines art and technical skills in figure skating. She recently came to Belgium to work on new productions.

The music and choreography are very different from anything she has done before. We have incorporated new, unique and innovative elements of movement, body movement and artistic expression.

We spent long, intense hours on the ice dedicated to creating and perfecting these new pieces. Anastasia was very open to exploring new ideas and approaches to movements and body shapes, which made our cooperation very fruitful, filled with joy and mutual respect,” Shoya told .
