Figure skater Pavel Drozd who performs in ice dancing with Elizaveta Shichina, explained to the process of staging programs for the upcoming season.
The 2024/25 season will be the first for the Shichina/Drozd duo. The athletes paired up this spring.
— At the beginning of June, we returned to the ice after the holidays. We chose music and a theme for both programs. The free program was choreographed before the holidays and we are now creating the rhythm dance with our coaches. Ksenia Gennadievna (Rumyantseva) and Ekaterina Valerievna (Volobueva) have always distinguished themselves with interesting productions. In general, there is a lot of work and it is in full swing,” Drozd told .
Drozd, together with Elizaveta Shanaeva, became silver medalist of the Russian Championship and the final of the 2023 Russian Grand Prix. Last season, the couple took 4th place at the Russian Championship and became fifth at the Spartakiad of the strongest. In March, the dance duo broke up.
Shichina, paired with Gordey Khubulov, took 9th place at the 2023 Russian Championship.
